The North East 250 explores everything for which Scotland is famous in a unique Scottish road trip taking you through the whisky distilleries of Speyside, the spectacular mountain passes of the Cairngorms National Park, the famous castles of Royal Deeside, the Granite City of Aberdeen, the rugged North Sea coastline to the east, and the picturesque seaside villages of the Moray Firth Coast.
Castles, Whisky & Golf
North East 250 is famous for the castle and malt whisky trails. Every day is a different castle … and different distillery. There are over 14 castles on the North East 250 in varying states of repair. You can combine the castles with some of our many museums and visitor centres. For whisky lovers, you can enjoy from the old traditional distilleries of Glenlivet & Glenfiddich to the newer award winning Macallan Distillery, many of the distilleries offer tours.
And for our golf lovers you will enjoy a round on some of our many golf courses ranging from championship, links and challenging hilly courses.

Landscapes
The North East 250 landscape is varied and contrasting .. from the soft rolling hills in Moray & Aberdeenshire to the spectacular mountains of the Cairngorms, the beautiful beaches on the Moray Firth Coast to the rugged coastline of the east coast. For the more adventurous there is plenty to keep you active from hill climbing, cycling routes and watersports.
The 250 miles is an amazing journey on quiet roads around one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland and one to be enjoyed in our Mazda MX-5s.
